EXPERIENCE was high on West Ivanhoe’s recruiting checklist for our senior cricket caption/coach and the club has landed one of its key targets.
The West Ivanhoe United Cricket Club is excited to announce that Michael Butera will make West Ivanhoe his home, with Mike taking on the Club’s Head Coach and Club Captain responsibilities for season 2016-17.
Mike comes to West Ivanhoe with Premier Cricket experience at Carlton and Essendon and most recently successful stints at Westmeadows and Greensborough Cricket Clubs.
The evergreen batsman played 122 games for Carlton and 17 for Essendon. His experience, ability, leadership and impeccable character will be a terrific asset to the club going forward.
The Roosters made a gallant run to the finals last year under the stewardship of George Karatzas, we thanks George for stepping up to the plate and putting the club first.
Mike is incredibly excited to be at the Rooster and is looking forward to working with an enthusiastic and talented playing group along with our successful junior program. Mike will endeavour to contact all senior players in the coming weeks to introduce himself and confirm both individual and team ambitions for this season.
